We’ve reviewed some cool play centres on Babyology but I think this one might win. Located in Brooklyn, New York, Frolic has redefined play centres with a rock’n'roll urban edge. If the amazing pop-art-meets-Led-Zepplin decor is not enough to set Frolic apart, then the list of ‘extras’ most certainly does. Reflecting the artistic culture of the surrounding neighbourhood, the focus of the activities and classes offered at Frolic are on the creative – music and art with a distinct rock edge.

Frolic! holds everything from concerts to cooking classes to birthdays to craft projects, all under a rock ‘n’ roll theme. The activities are crazy creative and best of all, fun for parents and kids. We spoke to Balogh and Dawson about being momtrepreneurs, starting a business with a friend, and what makes Frolic! so unique.

On Sunday, December 3rd, the Music Hall of Williamsburg hosted Frolic!’s 2nd Annual Rockin’ Holiday Show. Following the massive success of last year’s concert, the Northside play space was proud to present its band and signature music program Little Rock-its by Frolic!, as well as several special guests.

Although it stayed kid-friendly, this was a show any real rock fan could love... the original songs were melodically infectious and packed their own charm. At one point, even Santa came out to boogie with the kids.

We know it’s only rock ‘n’ roll, but we like it, and so did the hundreds of kids who celebrated Halloween at North 6th Street’s rock ‘n’ roll playspace Frolic!

There are a wide variety of classes for preschoolers, including art, soccer, dance, cooking, and its signature offering, Little Rock-its, a music class created by Tim Kubart of the upbeat kids' band Tim and the Space Cadets.

On my way to Smorgasburg on Saturday I ran into the ever stylish Julia from Frolic.

On Sunday, June 3rd, Brooklyn’s hippest kids will be rockin’ the waterfront to give their less fortunate peers a great summer.

At “Family Fun on the Williamsburg Pier,” presented by Elaine and Norm Brodsky, in-kids and their wannabe parents will enjoy an afternoon of rides, games, food, drinks and music. Proceeds from the event will help Camp Brooklyn send children from low-income families to sleep away camp this summer.

Last week we finally visited Frolic!, the new children’s play space in Williamsburg but the reviews we have heard were right on: it is the ultimate rock ‘n’ roll play space.

For all you parents out there who just can’t bring yourselves to tune into Pandora’s “Children Folk Songs” station one more time, you need to get yourselves over to Williamsburg. You may have heard about the massive, 5,000 sq ft play space that opened this past January, but Frolic! must be seen to be believed.

Residents of the Northside waterfront should be on the lookout for a Yellow Submarine! For six Saturdays, beginning May 5th, instructor Molly White will take kids, ages 4-7, from rock’s blues-based inception all the way to Taylor Swift and Madonna. Along the way, they will cover some jazz, country, rockabilly, R & B, punk, metal and, of course, the British invasion.

“Hi, how are you? She is just so adorable!” Those are just two of the many greetings I received when River Mae and I visited Frolic. I have never felt so welcome as we entered this awesome rock and roll themed play space.

Frolic!, Williamsburg's new rock 'n' roll-themed romping spot for preschoolers, has gotten an incredible amount of buzz since it opened last month. Although as of now the awesome play space is reserved for members, non-members can sign up for Frolic!'s cool classes, which are led by talented New York City artists. Since my daughter is such a big music fan, we just had to check it out.

For Williamsburg rockers turned stroller pushers with cash to spare, there’s a new spot to let their toddlers tap into their inner rock star.

As a successful entrepreneur and columnist for business magazine Inc., CitiStorage founder Norm Brodsky knows how to spot a good investment. Judging by new memberships, his latest venture, a partnership in Frolic!, which opened this week, already looks like a winner.

Brooklyn Based has a new piece on the plight of indie parents trying to make it in the music world while juggling parenthood. Of course, after reading that sentence, the word "Williamsburg" should be flashing in red before your eyes as the neighborhood you once thought of as kind of hip and maybe even a little cool gets slammed with toddlers with ironically ripped jeans (maybe from learning how to crawl) and tattooed moms debating the fastest way to swing by Roberta's for a quick lunch date in a Blue Bottle driven frenzy.

With the grand opening of Frolic! today in Williamsburg, you have even more options for indoor play this winter. Located in the new condominium building, The Edge, Frolic has the advantage of lots of space (approximately 5,000 square feet), ground floor access and ample stroller parking.

Both juice boxes and beer were the drinks of choice at Frolic’s holiday party at the Music Hall of Williamsburg last month, where the average attendee was about three feet tall. Iggy Pop blared on the sound system, but instead of mosh pits on the main floor there was cushy felt, perfect for crawling babies.

We first reported that a new play space was coming to Williamsburg back in October—and now Frolic! has finally opened its doors. The 5,000-square-foot spot, run by two neighborhood moms who used to work in the fashion industry, sports a members-only indoor playground complete with a replica of a 1970s VW bus, a Rolling Stones–inspired tongue slide and a concert stage.

Yesterday Jessica and I finally made our way to Frolic! the new play space opening tomorrow in our neighborhood. If you have peeked at Frolic’s website you may already know the space is 5,000 feet. When you walk into Frolic you will be greeted by a cheerful (but not nauseating) staff in the reception/cafe area.
